Tennessee Vols Baseball has enjoyed much success over the years. They have had great players and coaches lead them to some major accomplishments, but they still have plenty of work to do if they want to continue to have a place in the National Championship conversation. They currently sit at the bottom of the SEC East Division standings, which shows they aren’t close to reaching that lofty goal. While they have had some good players, they have never had a player in the history of the program named to the College World Series. I’ve had a love affair with college sports since my days at the University of Tennessee. I’ve been lucky enough to live in Knoxville, and I’ve been to all kinds of games. However, I have to admit, football has always been my favorite sport to watch. That’s why I was happy when Tennessee announced they would be playing in the College Football Playoff Championship game. And when the Vols defeated Georgia in the first round of the tournament, I was even happier. So, while my heart was happy, my head was sad because I know this means the end of the season for the Vols. I’m still going to be watching, though.

When starting the Tennessee Volunteers, the starting players are Jonathan Kongbo and Dorial Green-Beckham. This season, Kongbo and Green-Beckham have had more experience playing with each other, which has helped Tennessee. This season, Tennessee has a better offense than last season and Kongbo and Green-Beckham have played a big part in that. If the Volunteers are to defeat the Ohio State Buckeyes, they will need to have better offensive production. I think the best player in the Vols is true freshman QB Jarrett Guarantano. He was very impressive in the preseason opener against South Alabama, and he has a ton of potential. He is going to be an excellent QB at Tennessee, especially considering that he is the top-rated signal-caller among SEC freshmen. He has a bright future ahead of him.
